Real DUATS Weather Briefings Use your device's Internet connection to get real DUATS Weather Briefings. WingX categorizes the weather briefings by dividing them into individually accessable sections such as AIRMETs, Pilot Reports, NOTAMs, etc. This categorization of the weather briefing makes the briefing easy to read even on a smaller device. WingX will also collate the NOTAMs and group them according to the airport identifier (see image above). These weather briefings are obtained by using your DUATS credentials and the N-Number entered. Therefore these briefings are traceable by the FAA; i.e. these are real weather briefings. There are three types of weather briefings available; namely:

Flight Plans Filing flight plans from your cell phone is now not only a reality, but it is very easy and quick. To spead up the process, WingX will automatically transfer pieces of information from other WingX pages to the flight plan entry form. For example, WingX will use the N-Number of the aircraft used for the Weight and balance calculation. The route from the Route Planning page will be used. WingX will also use the device's owner information, address, and phone number automatically [Pocket PC only] although the user can enter (and save) a different one. The flight plans are filed directly with DUATS. As with other screens, popup menus show the most-recently used airports and routes allowing you to select a saved route. WingX will never, and can never, lose a flight plan! |
